Our Calgary team had a great week participating in Historic Calgary Week hosted by Chinook County Historical Society. We attended online and in person events around the city and presented at two seminars.
An Introduction to Oral History: A Practical Demonstration
On Thursday July 29, Tom Van Dewark and MacKenzie Brash led an oral history workshop in the park outside our office. The presentation provided an introduction to theoretical and foundational elements of oral history and a practical demonstration showing how these principles can be applied.
From Wilds to War: The Many Lives of Mewata Park
On Friday August 30th, Nick Gillen presented on the history of Mewata Park on behalf of Parks Calgary. His virtual presentation explored how Mewata Park became one of Calgary’s most discussed and controversial parks.
