Pizza, Pasta, and People: The Ingredients of the Italian Immigrant Community
During her 2022 internship with Know History, Danielle Sinopoli created an interactive map to showcase the history of Italian immigrant food culture in the GTA. Using research, photographs, and interviews, Danielle told the story of eight Italian establishments, including her family’s own restaurant, Il Paesano Pizzeria! We are proud of Danielle’s unique and creative approach to connecting her local community to the larger history of post-war Italian immigration to Canada.
