Indigenous History & Heritage Gathering
Join us June 5-7 for the first annual Indigenous History & Heritage Gathering in Ottawa, hosted by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and the First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres.
We are proud to announce that Know History is presenting this conference! The three-day gathering will focus on how we as a society understand and engage with Indigenous histories. The gathering will explore four themes:
Residential and Day Schools
Historic Claims
Language and Culture
Place and Naming
Brilliant speakers, including Tanya Talaga, Madeleine Redfern, Claudette Commanda, Edna Elias, and other Indigenous thought leaders, will present throughout the gathering.
Check out the conference at www.ihhg.ca
