American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting and Expo
Jenna Klassen (Historical Researcher), Jennifer Gilliland (Project Manager) and Dean F. Oliver (Director of Museum Services) represented Know History at the 2025 annual meeting of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) in Los Angeles, May 6-9.
The KH booth featured samples of our many projects, including the incredible Columbia Basin Trust and Franklin Expedition books, as well as the Museum Toolkit prepared by our Business Development and Design colleagues. Attendance formed part of our broader strategy to grow KH’s presence in the United States, especially in the museums, archives, and Indigenous heritage sectors.
This year’s effort showcased our ‘fund museums’ campaign. In addition to distributing hundreds of beautifully designed T-shirts at our incredibly busy booth, we added several hundred international followers to our social media accounts. AAM featured our campaign in its own socials as well, after a visit by its executives and staff photographer. At roughly 4,000 attendees, this annual meeting is the biggest of its kind on the continent, and we’ve now had very successful, highly visible forays two years running. We have since made a substantial contribution to AAM in support of museums, as you’ll have noted from our own social media posts.
We were pleased and honoured to have represented KH in Los Angeles, and to have demonstrated support for our American colleagues via our thoughtful, effective museums campaign.
