Ni’n Aq No’kmaq Genealogy Project

In October 2025, we traveled to Epekwitk (PEI) to speak with community members directly concerning connections built out for L’nuey’s Ni’n Aq No’kmaq Genealogy Project. We met with members from both Lennox Island and Abegweit First Nations, and what a turnout! Many traveled from across the island to meet with us and share their family’s history, community connections, and incredible stories of the Mi’kmaw’s resilience and perseverance. It was an exciting privilege to both witness and take part in the sharing and preservation of Epekwitk’s history for future generations.

A link to the CBC Radio’s Island Morning segment where L’nuey Executive Director Jenene Wooldridge spoke about the importance of documenting and preserving Mi’kmaw family histories through the Ni’n Aq No’kmaq Genealogy Project can be found here: LINK
