Welcome Dr. Oliver!
It is with great excitement that we announce the newest member of the Know History team, joining us on September 19: Dr. Dean F. Oliver, an accomplished museologist, teacher, and leader! We are excited to welcome such a renowned historian to our team and look forward to working with Dean to research, document, and share history. Dean was previously the Director of Research and Exhibitions at the Canadian War Museum, Senior Director (Research) and Chief Curator at the Canadian Museum of History, and Interim Vice-President and Director-General at the Canadian Museum of History. In September, he will be joining KH as the Director of Museum Services.
Dr. Oliver brings over 25 years of experience working in museums and post-graduate institutions and holds a PhD in History from York University. One of the leading historians of his generation, his contributions to public history in Canada are truly unparalleled.
Dean was also knighted by The Netherlands in 2010 in the Order of Orange-Nassau, in honor of his contributions to society. Welcome to Know History, Dean!
