In this first episode of our History at Work series, we are joined by Kaitlin Wainwright, Director of Programming at Heritage Toronto. Kaitlin shares details on her career with Heritage Toronto, the types of programs they run, and how her career has shaped her outlook on history. Kaitlin also discusses how heritage influences our cities and citizens both economically and socially, and the recently published State of Heritage Report in Toronto.
About Our Guest
Kaitlin Wainwright is a public historian and Director of Programming at Heritage Toronto, a charity and City agency that promotes Toronto’s rich heritage and shares the stories of our city’s people and places. Kaitlin’s previous experience includes managing the most active plaques program in North America and cultural administration of public art and works of commemoration in Ottawa. Her writing has previously appeared in ActiveHistory, Torontoist, and TVO.org.
