S2E8: History at Work – Candice McCavitt of Heritage Toronto

May 24, 2019

This week, our History at Work series continues with an interview with Candice McCavitt, Manager of Development at Heritage Toronto.

We all love taking history tours and learning more about the places we live in and visit; but how many of us stop to think about the work and money that it takes to create these activities for our enjoyment?  In this episode, Keely and Robin get a little peak behind the curtain at some of the roles and responsibilities that Candice has as Heritage Toronto’s Manager of Development.

Candice shares details on how she came to be involved with Heritage Toronto and explains why there is no such thing as an “average” day in her position.  She discusses how tours are chosen and developed, and speaks about how she overcame the sometimes uncomfortable aspect of the job: soliciting donations.
